Because alcohol increases the risk of side effects like redness, don’t drink for at least 24 hours before your Botox injections.

What happens during Botox treatment?

Dr. Ripa reviews your medical records and asks about your treatment goals. Then, he examines and washes your skin and administers a topical anesthetic so you don’t feel the injections.

Dr. Ripa uses a thin needle to carefully inject Botox into specific areas of your skin and muscle. The number of shots you get depends on various factors, including the severity of your symptoms and treatment goals. 

What should I know about Botox aftercare?

After Botox injections, you can immediately return to work and other routine activities. Avoid lying down for three to four hours and don’t rub or massage the treatment site for at least a day. 

Side effects are rare, but you can reduce your risk by not drinking alcohol or exercising for 24 hours.

How long do Botox results last?

Botox results last three or four months, but you can keep your skin smooth and wrinkle-free with regular maintenance. After a series of Botox treatments, many people’s muscles train themselves to contract less. Dr. Ripa monitors your results over time and adjusts your treatment plan as necessary.
